Retaining GPS metadata in photos extracted from 360 videos [GoThru S.B.]
-
Hi, so I know this is maybe an unconventional use of the Street Builder tool, but it's the workflow I'm currently dealing with. I am using a GoPro Max to film bicycle routes using the TimeWarp function (basically TimeLapse video). After stabilizing and rendering the .360 file in GoPro Player, I drop the .mp4 file into GTSB. I love that it neatly extracts the frames and pin them on a string to the map. All the extracted files are visible in the folders GTSB creates, and those frames that fit the distance parameter are renamed with the suffix _selected.jpg. Sadly these photos are stripped of all metadata. There's no location, date time or camera make/model for the photos in that folder. You only get the location data added to the photos if you upload the photos to the GoThru service. From there I can download the photos with the geodata. Is it possible to alter the software so that more metadata is retained on device without going through the GT-server?

@kartmann We will be adding the GPS to the jpg files, but not right now. It might take us 4-5 months till that will happen. The main reason is that we are working on some other projects and we can not divert from them, right now.
